Return to the Keep on the Borderlands
Rules will be standard 2nd edition rules with some scarcity in equipment due to life in the borderlands. The Keep is located north enough to be away from big settlements but not too north to employ modifiers to movement and combat due to cold (though rainy days will be plentiful).
As for material spell components, my simplification rule is this: No individual monitoring until 3rd spell level. Caster has to spend 50% of his income everytime he replenishes spell components assuming reasonable use of spells.
Above 3rd spell level, same rule applies but special items must be purchased (or found/stolen) individually (e.g. a sapphire worth 1000 gp).
Characters begin with full hp at the first level and roll for hp afterwards. Characters fall unconscious at 0 hp, lose 1 hp per round if wounded and die at -10 hp unless healed or stabilized.
